Def Jam Vendetta Review

When you first hear about this game, youre probably thinking that it is just another ordinary wrestling/fighting game, but once you get playing it takes you into another level of game play. In this game you face the underground of street fighting to gain money and respect among other street fighters and the whole of the underground world. You have to fight your way up to the level masters who control that level and that part of the underground.

Battle Grounds

The settings of the battlegrounds are very detailed and have spectators standing around the outside of the ring, cheering the fighters on; this gives you a bit of realism within the game. The one thing that is nice about this game is that there isnt any flashing stage lights as you find on other wrestling games; on this wrestling game you just have the simple ring with ropes. The arenas are just rings in houses, factories, and warehouses or even on top of buildings; you are surrounded by cheering crowds of people and you also have that extra bit of music being played while you are fighting.

Good Graphics?

The graphics in this game have been thought and created very well; the way the characters look are very detailed and they even have jewellery or chains on them; some even have different suites. The graphics in this game are better than any graphics that I have seen in any of the other PlayStation 2 wrestling games that I have played; theyve been thought out more carefully.

Good Sound?

The sound within this game is incredibly good, all the background effects are good and you get the full quality sound you'd expect from this type of game.

Fun or not?

This game is certainly fun as you have to battle your way to the top of the underground as you earn money while fighting. At first the game is easy but as you start to go up the tables you have to start working and concentrating on what you are doing, because your opposition starts to become harder to beat.

It's different

This game is different to all other wrestling games, mainly because after certain fights you are put into a different scenario; you are also fighting in different venues and underground places within the game. Also you are really involved in a story line in the game about one person making a comeback out of retirement and helping a friend get more cash to pay debts and also how you are trying to battle your way to the top of the underground.

Worth the buy or not?

You should first rent this game to see if this is the sort of game you will play or if its the sort of game you dont like to play. Once youve rented and seen what its like then, and you like it, go out and buy it.
