Fuzion Frenzy Review
January 21, 2004 by Ryan Newcomb by ryann - January 21, 2004 The ultimate party game can be found on Xbox. Set in a futuristic city, up to 4 players compete in many (and I do mean many) games. Interesting story for a party game. It goes a little something like this: sometime in the future cities have become intense battlegrounds for dangerous games played by people of all ages. What's the goal? To prove who's the best. Televised worldwide, the tournaments have become almost an obsession, and each zone of the world has sent the best of their best to bring glory and honor to their home. This game brings back memories of the old days, when you could walk into a room where people are playing a video game, and having no knowledge of the game itself, can immeadiatly play. Mainly, you use the joystick and the A and B buttons. While the controls do not take advantage of all of the Xbox controller's buttons, you use the A and B button so much that you'll soon have jammed them. Not only is the game easy to play, it's probably the most addicting multiplayer game I have ever played. I have discovered something: there is no such thing as "just one more game." I always end up playing another. I can sit down for hours and hours playing it and never get bored because there is such a wide variety of different games to compete in--- but don't let that fool you: this is strictly a multiplayer game. When I play this game alone I become easily bored. Why? Because there is no one to make fun of when I shove their sumo-wrestling ball out of the arena! Nothing is better than rubbing your victory in the face of the defeated.
These graphics are great for a fast paced game. Watching the guts from those bugs go splat all over the place is just damn cool. The only problem I had with this game's presentation is this: it's very easily to lose track of yourself in some of the games (such as in the bug-splatting ones, where the ground is full of bugs, other players, moving trains, etc.) Overall, this game runs very smooth with well done graphics, but it doesn't look as well as the Mario Party games for GameCube. The only major thing that is wrong with this game is the announcer with his incredibly annoying voice yelling the same thing at the beginning of every game. There are also the cheesy lines the victor says at the end of each game such as "Like Stealing Candy From a Baby." the game's soundtrack isn't that great either, but that's OK because you can use the music that you have uploaded onto your Xbox's harddrive instead. Basically, this game is funner when you turn the sound effects off and put in your own music...
Conclusion If you like fast paced multiplayer party games such as Bomberman 64 or the Mario Party series, then this game is definately for you. |
