In a land where religion has been banned, where an adviser has usurped the throne, you must step forward to put things right. In Got Games's newest game, Heretic Kingdom: the Inquisition, your choices and your path lead to how the world will be changed forever. Taking the role of a mage in a restless era, where the future is uncertain. A deep involving quest and choices will effect on how you choose to change the land, for good or for evil. Your choices and consequences affect everyone around you.

Fight well or Die

Heretic Kingdoms: The Inquisition is a great game. The controls are pretty straight forward and easy to use. The mouse is pretty much the sole controller needed as it aims, attacks , and leads your character around. The game makes it easy for you to equip and un-equip different items, this is important because your item's contribute to your character's abilities. There are a lot of quests to complete that are pretty straightforward and help to push the storyline along as well. The ability to have different choices makes there to be several endings which makes this game completely re-playable. It's a challenge but not impossible for gamers to get through the levels and level up to gain new abilities and spells. The combat system is real time so it makes you focus and pay attention to each one of your battles.

Supernatural vision

The landscapes in Heretic Kingdoms: The inquisition are flat maps that do have good detail. Each map is 2d so there is no real eye candy to look at but they did a good job for each of the maps. There are a few drawbacks to this games graphics those. Most stories are told via text screens and drawn pictures which does tend to get boring from time to time. All dialog is text as well so characters don't really look like anything more than just the models. The enemies are pretty detailed and look very cool. One aspect this game does pretty well is weather and lighting effects. The weather will change randomly as time passes on. Overall this game does a pretty good job not to be boring to the point where the game isn't fun to play.

The bitter sound of silence

The music in Heretic Kingdoms, is really well done. Each map plays different music and there is different music in the background for your various battles. Unfortunately there isn't a w hole lot of Voice dialog in Heretic Kingdom. The little spoken dialog there is that narrates the story along to pictures and text. The character voices are well done and do a good job of sounding like an authentic bard. Occasionally the main character will make some poor quip after or before a battle. Battles sound pretty realistic with the clashing of metal and the use of different elements. Different enemies make different noises and they will make sounds during the various battles you encounter.

Killing is about all I do anymore

Heretic Kingdoms is a really fun game to play. A pretty straight forward magic system allows users to customize their abilities via their armor. There is a lot to do and see in this game and can entertain for a while. Quests are fairly easy to complete which allows you to be able to speed along quickly and explore more and more of the game. Character choices such as choosing to help or choosing not to help someone make a lasting impact. You can choose to be the savior of religion or choose to exterminate it. The gripping storyline pulls you into the game and really makes you want to play more. There are many enemies and many different environments to explore. There are many items to collect and weapons to pick up , all with their strengths and weaknesses. The ability to switch weapons rather quickly is really useful and handy. Unfortunately you can only be one class in this game. You can't choose your sex either. The only customization you have on your characters looks is what their initial wear is and their hair color and style. For hardcore rpg fans this is a let down.

Leave your world behind

There is one aspect of this rpg that does make this game very cool. The ability to enter a spirit world on each map adds different levels to the game. Certain characters only appear in other planes on the same map. It is crucial for the gamer to be able to phase in and out of these worlds in order to complete different objectives and fight different enemies. There are spots in the other world that you can go to where you can gain exp in order to advance your character. You are only alloted a certain time in the spirit world before you are forced to return to the normal plane.

Quest completed

Overall Heretic Kingdoms is a really great game. The engaging storyline and the simple combat make this game very addictive. The ability to change elements and eventually to be able to master multiple elements is really fun. I really enjoyed this game there were only a few parts that let me down . There is a lot of replay factor in this game because of the multiple outcomes. I would definitely recommend this game to anyone who was a hardcore rpg fan.
