Resident Evil 5 DLC Available Now
Xbox 360 | April 7, 2009 3:36 pm

Capcom always likes to keep their promises. Today the Versus Mode DLC is now available over Xbox Live and will be available on the Playstation Network this Thursday in the PSN Update. For 400 MS points on Xbox Live.

Versus allows up to four players to match wits in online battles across two very different game types. Slayer’s Rule is a point-based game that challenges players to kill Majinis. In Survivor’s Rule, players hunt the most dangerous game, each other! Players can begin the hunt as Chris, Sheva or other secret characters, and choose from either one-on-one or two-versus-two team matches for either of the two gameplay styles.

MS Releases New LIVE Update: Does Nothing Special
Xbox 360 | April 2, 2009 12:02 pm

If you turned on your Xbox 360 sometime today you may have been prompted to a mandatory update. Don't be alarmed, this isn't the spring dashboard update or anything related to it. According to the Major, there are no new additions or features added, but all you should be worried about is it's a System update.

The update will apparently be addressing interruptions that some Xbox Live users have been having with a limited amount of games.

There are no other changes or enhancements in this update…in other words no new features.

This update will be rolled out to all Xbox LIVE members around the world over the space of a few hours, so you may not get prompted for the update immediately.

Bungie Confirms No Working Plans With Halo 3
Xbox 360 | March 31, 2009 9:06 am

With numerous games played and map packs released, Bungie has finally given word this past GDC that they have no plans to continue working on Halo 3 outside of maintence and throwing the banhammer on cheaters. Gamespot recieved word from Bungie regarding how the media took their comments the other way around.

"It's interesting how people come to define what 'working' means. According to the web, that definitely means we're making more maps, another campaign expansion, and maybe even an expansion to our as-yet-unreleased expansion, Halo 3: ODST. Were it so easy. 'Working on Halo 3' could also be defined as ongoing management of the Matchmaking Playlists, swinging the Banhammer as hard and as often as needed, investigating potential exploits, and generally ensuring that the game experience remains positive and entertaining for everyone."

DLC Announced for Banjo Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts
Xbox 360 | March 31, 2009 8:46 am

Microsoft and Rare today have announced new downloadable content for Bang&Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts. Entitled, L.O.G. (Lord of Games), which is a pack of new Lost Challenges. The DLC will be adding 7 fresh new multiplayer modes to keep things up to speed.

Additionally, L.O.G.’s Lost Challenges will include the blueprints from seven lucky Xbox fans from the United States, Canada and Japan whose winning creations were selected by RARE from the recent “Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts” fan vehicle design contest. The winning contraptions can be unlocked by Banjo fans upon completion of the Stop ‘N’ Swop feature within “Banjo-Tooie” on Xbox LIVE Arcade later this spring. These incredible machines ranging from a beetle to a carousel and a robot prove that “Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts” is a game where the only limits to your adventure is your imagination.

With new achievement points at around 250, there are 12 new challenges and 7 new multiplayer games. The pack will be released on April 7th and cost you at a price of 400 MS points. Check out screenshots below...

Gears of War 2 Snowblind Map Pack Now Available
Xbox 360 | March 31, 2009 6:41 am

To keep up with the fresh content in Gears of War 2, Epic Games has released a new Snowblind map pack on the Marketplace today. You'll get four maps Grindyard, Under Hill, Courtyard and Fuel Depot and all are playable in Horde mode.

Grindyard is a massive industrial complex located in a junk-processing plant from the days of Sera’s industrial excess. The office, now gutted, serves as a perfect place to fortify, but if you’re not careful, you’ll end up trapped inside the office with no hope of escape.

• Under Hill takes players through snowbound tunnels that were once billed as a feat of Seran engineering. Head for high ground on the bridge and you’ll be rewarded with massive firepower, but be prepared to defend your position and try to escape being cornered.

• Courtyard is a wide-open battle royale containing explosive weapons that once formed the heart of Ephyra’s fashionable Civic Center. Lines of sight are far and clear here, and battles tend to focus around the elevated sniper nest. Watch your back and keep a fresh clip.

• Fuel Depot, back by popular demand, Fuel Depot is a “Gears of War 2” remake of the fan-favorite “Gears of War” map, but winter has set in and the depot is now covered in a blanket of snow. Open and unforgiving, it takes a well-coordinated team to cover all the angles here.

Check out the achievements for the new maps below. The map pack is available for 800 MS points.

Details on Banjo DLC Coming Next Week
Xbox 360 | March 6, 2009 5:55 pm

Rare has announced that details on new DLC for Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts will be revealed sometime next week. Rare was careful not to divulge much, instead opting to tease us while putting on the persona of the Lord of Games.

As I put so much effort into hammering and sticky-taping together all those new worlds for Nuts & Bolts, I thought I'd reward the loyalty of its cadre of ardent players with a brief hint. So prick up your ears, soldiers: consider this an early warning that news on potential lifespan-lengthening activities will be incoming very soon. The game's lifespan, I mean, not your own. I may be a deity, but that's just unrealistic.
