It's strange day in the console world when Nintendo mostly controls everything. But, with Xbox Live, the Xbox 360 finally had its biggest month ever for the online service. According to Major Nelson some records were broken and he's here to give us the bullet points.
The demo for the upcoming Xbox 360 RTS exclusive, Halo Wars is available now on the Marketplace. As also mentioned by Major Nelson. So, if you haven't already I would suggest downloading it now before god only knows what happens to those servers.
The wait to experience the genre-defining strategy game “Halo Wars” ends today with the release of the “Halo Wars” demo on Xbox LIVE*. The demo introduces players to the game’s groundbreaking control scheme through two tutorials, gives a taste of the epic story with the first two campaign missions, and allows people to experience the intense, competitive action offered via one of the game’s 14 Skirmish maps.
In addition to the launch of the “Halo Wars” demo on Xbox LIVE today, Microsoft Game Studios invites fans to experience the action and take a closer look at the strategies and decisions that lie ahead, in the riveting new “Call to Battle: ‘Halo Wars’ Trailer.”
Featuring exciting new battle sequences between the UNSC and Covenant, weaved in with scenes from the beautiful in-game cinematics, the trailer showcases what fans can expect when they take command in “Halo Wars,” the action strategy game developed exclusively for Xbox 360. This new trailer is available for download on Xbox LIVE and Xbox.com/Halo.
Fallout 3's first piece of DLC is now available for Xbox and PC through Live Marketplace. Operation: Anchorage takes you through the Battle of Anchorage. In it you will have the opportunity to travel back in time to before the bombs dropped to help fend off the invading Chinese army.
Weighing in at 800 Microsoft Points, Operation: Anchorage, adds a raft of new characters, weapons and achievements as well as a brand new main quest. Operation: Anchorage is available exclusively on 360 and PC.
No, this isn't an early April fool's joke. Rare has announced earlier today that it will be re-releasing the sequel to Banjo-Kazooie, Banjo-Tooie on Xbox Live Arcade this Spring (April to be exact). Stop n' Swoop will also be available in Banjo Tooie, if you managed to pick it up in Banjo Kazooie.
As with the XBLA release of Banjo-Kazooie, you can expect all the fully-featured fun from the original game. But there’s more – 4J Studios have dredged the Banjo team’s collective memory and implemented the original plan for Stop ‘n’ Swop, for the first time on any platform ever and after many long years of waiting. Without going into too much detail, the Stop ’n’ Swop items collected in Banjo-Kazooie will ‘magically’ appear in Tooie, resulting in... well, you'll just have to find out. What could be cooler than that? Nothing, that’s what – not even Kazooie turning into a dragon.
More to come with Nuts and Bolts as well....you can check out screenshots of Banjo-Tooie's Arcade release at the announcement page on their official forums.
Just now showing its face this morning, is the Resident Evil 5 demo that we've ever waited for. Major Nelson gives a short but sweet mention of it.

Microsoft has announced that Halo Wars has officially gone gold, the real time strategy title exclusively for the Xbox 360. Thanks to this announcement it was posted that a demo will be made available for the game before launch on Feb 5th at 2 am PT.
In addition, the recently announced Xbox LIVE public demo for “Halo Wars” will be available beginning on Feb. 5 at 2 a.m. PST in Xbox LIVE enabled regions worldwide. In the demo, players will be able master Ensemble’s groundbreaking control scheme in optional beginner and advanced tutorials or jump right into the action to experience the beginning of the “Halo Wars” story with the first two campaign missions. The demo will also include “Chasms,” one of “Halo Wars’” 14 multiplayer maps, wherein players can battle it out in Skirmish mode vs. A.I., playing either as the UNSC with Captain Cutter’s leader powers, or as the Covenant with the Prophet of Regret’s own unique abilities. Don’t forget to set your Xbox to download this demo!
Just remember that Halo Wars is rated 'T' for "Teen" by the ESRB and will cost you a bill of $59.99.
