Iron Maiden Rocking Wii Tuesday
Nintendo Wii | June 8, 2009 7:10 pm

This Tuesday, the Nintendo Wii will see some DLC its way with Rock Band continuing to expand its library. Iron Maiden will be all the rage for metal fans. Fligth 666 is the highlight here and there are definitely plenty of tracks to shift through.

Live recordings of “Aces High,” “Hallowed Be Thy Name,” “Fear of the Dark” and “Iron Maiden,” featured on Flight 666, are among those available for download in the Rock Band  Music Store for Wii June 9. The other eight songs were among those featured on the band’s Somewhere Back in Time World Tour, during the first leg of which Flight 666 was filmed. This will mark the first time master recordings from Iron Maiden have been made available on Rock Band games.

“Fans have been asking us to do something with Rock Band for some time, and this seemed to be a perfect opportunity,” said Maiden manager Rod Smallwood. “Our recent Somewhere Back in Time tour was perhaps the most enjoyable one we have ever undertaken and certainly the most successful with almost 2 million people catching the shows around the world.  So it just seemed a good idea to make some of the songs we played available now so fans can play along with the band on the tour. Then we shall see if they can keep up with the band!!”

Also coming to Wii DLC this week are tracks from the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Disturbed and a special track from Stephen & the Colberts. These tracks come from the back catalog of Rock Band music already released to owners of Xbox 360 and PLAYSTATION 3 system. Wii fans can expect a rollout of previously released downloadable Rock Band content until the entire back catalog of more than 700 songs is available.  With the addition of these tracks, there are now more than 290 tracks in the Wii Rock Band Music Store.

Check out the tracks below...

Nintendo Reveals Black Wii
Nintendo Wii | June 4, 2009 7:28 am

While not at E3, Gamespot received word that Nintendo will be revealing a black Wii in Japan as well as a red DSi. Previously the console had only been made avaialble in white and other colors were only a dream with mockup photos thrown out there for the press to eat up. At least this is a step in the right direction. One can only hope if we'll see Red or even Green Wii's on the market in the future.

また、据置型ゲーム機「Wii」に関しても、新たに「クロ」を追加し、2009年8月1日(土)より発売することになりましたのでお知らせします。 The fixed-type game machine "Wii" about a new "black" add to 2009 Saturday, August 1 to announce that it has released. なお、メーカー希望小売価格は25,000円(消費税込)で、従来と同額です。 The price is 25,000 yen (including tax) is equal to the past.

The price point translates too (£158, $258). I can only guess that people will probably import their new Wii's over to the US unless Nintendo announces that the color will be heading over Stateside sometime soon. The black Wii will also come with a new Virtual Console controller and nun-chuck along with the black Wii remote as well. The black Wii is set to release on August 1st while the Red DSi will be releasing on July 11 in Japan only. no plans seem to have been revealed for Europe yet.

JU-ON: The Grudge Coming To Wii
Nintendo Wii | May 27, 2009 9:18 am

While the Wii certainly hasn't had its share of M rated games until Madworld, JU-ON: The Grudge looks to add to the library later this year. Based off the Japanese version of the film and not the unfortunate display of the American remake of the same name. Developed by Rising Star Games, the game will take a turn to survival horror as your Wii remote is your flashlight.

Using the Wii Remote as a flashlight, JU-ON: The Grudge has players move forward with the touch of a button and explore haunted areas such as an abandoned warehouse, a dimly lit hospital and a mannequin factory. With a story revolving around the unfortunate Yamada family, JU-ON: The Grudge features a new unique gameplay mechanic that measures your movements during play - the more you flinch and jump, the worse your success rate becomes. The player can progress through the game with bad scores, but it is those with a steady hand and nerves of steel that will have the most to gain from this experience.

No release date was given other then Q4 2009. Check out some screenshots below.
