Remember the old Playstation 3 commercials the one's that even had a weird scary baby in them? Well, thanks to Son'y Marketing PR team, we don't see those on TV anymore. With the new Kevin Butler campaign going on, the Playstation 3 has been a huge success especially with the release of the Playstation 3 Slim. IGN had a chat with Peter Dille, whose SCEA's Head of Marketing about the progress of the campaign.
The ads, which feature fictional Sony executive Kevin Butler, were intended highlight the PlayStation 3's features to consumers more clearly and inject some humor. Dille said console sales are going up and that consumers are more aware and educated about the PlayStation 3's offerings.
"The campaign is working to drive hardware sales," he said. "PlayStation 3 sales are up 184 percent in the three months following the price drop, and while a lot of that has to do with price itself, we know from research that consumers are more educated as well."
"Purchase intent went from 19 percent prior to the price drop, to 36 percent after this campaign started. And we've also tracked our competitors and they've fallen during the same time."

Speaking in an interview too TechDigest, Square-Enix continues to provide us with entertaining comments regarding a possible remake of the infamous Final Fantasy 7 from the original Playstation. Here is such quote...
If it were possible that we had all the right facilities and the right environment to be able to make and prepare a Final Fantasy VII remake within a year, we'd very much like a go at it! But even Final Fantasy XIII has taken over three and a half years to create. If we were to recreate Final Fantasy VII with the same level of graphical detail as you see in Final Fantasy XIII, we'd imagine that that would take as much as three or four times longer than the three and a half years it has taken to put this Final Fantasy together! So it's looking pretty unrealistic! But if any such situation came about by any remote chance, then yes, we'd do it!
So, is it possible to provide the remake for Playstation 3 owners and Final Fantasy fans? Only time will tell at this point. With the amount of time put into Final Fantasy 13 and its impending release finally upon us, we can only imagine how long it would take for Final Fantasy 7 to make its way to a Blu-Ray disc. For now though, you'll have to just settle with the original game which is available for download now on the Playstation Network Store.
