New Cities XL Screenshots Released

Monte Cristo Games has just released several new screenshots for their upcoming city-building game, Cities XL. The new screenshots focus on various elements of the game such as stadiums, farms and dowtown areas.

Fretlight Introduces Interactive Guitar Lessons

Fretlight, a product of Optek Music Systems, promises future guitarists the ability to learn guitar in an interactive manner. Their system allows budding guitarists to learn how to play in front of their home computer.

The Fretlight system has a series of lights located on the fretboard that light up where you should properly place your fingers to achieve the desired chord. To keep you in the groove, there are DVDs that contain music clips from a variety of genres that will help you achieve your goal of real world rock stardom. Think Guitar Hero, but with real-world lessons in playing guitar.

Necrovision Single Player Demo Available

Aspyr Media and 1C Company have announced that the single player demo for Necrovision is available for download. Necrovision is a first person shooter set during World War I and "takes players into the bowels of Hell itself."

The demo has players battling their way through the German Lines. As an Allied soldier, yo uwill have access to the Colt 1911 and Lee Enfield or select from the German Luger and Gewehr rifles one they have been taken from the battle field. There are also bayonets, heavy machine-guns, trench guns and even a shovel to dispatch the Germans with.

PC Gaming Alliance Appoints Capcom

The PC Gaming Alliance (PCGA) has announced today that it has added new representatives to the organization. The Alliance has appointed representatives from Capcom and The Guildhall. The PC Gaming Alliance continues to work to help the platform of PC Gaming today and gives it the boost it needs so that it doesn't die.

The addition of these two leading organizations significantly broadens participation in the PCGA by the publisher and educational stakeholder communities and will provide the PCGA with much greater insight into their PC gaming issues and requirements.

“Capcom believes strongly in the value and strength of the PC gaming market as a global platform for our entertainment brands,” said Christian Svensson, vice president, business development and strategic planning. “Our participation in the PCGA’s activities over the past year has greatly improved our understanding of the market, provided us great business opportunities and allowed us to participate in improving the field of PC gaming. We’re pleased to have a representative on the board in order to directly help shape the future of the PC gaming environment.”

Mythic Announces First Live Expansion for Warhammer Online

Mythic Entertainment has announced the new "Call to Arms" live expansion for Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning (WAR). Call to Arms will introduce new content for WAR players, including two new careers – the Orc Choppa and the Dwarf Slayer – and a new dungeon zone called "Land of the Dead," set in the desert realm of the Tomb Kings.

The Last Remnant Coming to PC in Spring

Square-Enix has just announced that The Last Remnant will see its PC debut in Spring 2009.

Left 4...Winchester?

Potential modders have just gotten their grips on Left 4 Dead and one group in particular has laid out plans to create a mod for Left 4 Dead based around the movie Shaun of the Dead. The mod is titled Left 4 Winchester and seeks to create an experience like that seen in the comedy. The mini-mod is shooting for a short campaign that focuses on using the characters and melee weapons found in the movie.

The G.E.C.K. Has Landed

PC users of Fallout 3 can now download the mod tool from Bethesda's site. Appropriately enough, it is called the G.E.C.K. (Garden of Eden Creation Kit). To coincide with the release of the G.E.C.K, Bethesda has included a handy link to the G.E.C.K. Wiki which you can find below or through the hot link. So get to work modders and let's see what you can do.

Get a Free Copy of Lugaru
