If being able to play along with songs wasn't enough, Disney Interactive has kicked it up a slight notch and proclaimed that gamers will be able to create their own songs with Ultimate Band.
“With its touch controls and networking, the Nintendo DS gave us a great opportunity to take Ultimate Band in creative new directions,” says Mark McArthur, development director from developer Fall Line Studio. “In the studio, you can lay down the track of the lead guitar, play that as a rhythmic loop beneath your bass guitar, layer in some drums and ultimately build your own song from scratch. And you can create it with up to three other people using the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection.”
Naruto: Path of the Ninja 2 has officially hits store shelves across North America. The Nintendo DS title is based on the series by VIZ Media and a sequel to the its predecessor, Path of the Ninja.
“We put a lot of work into making Path of the Ninja 2 a worthy sequel to its predecessor,” said Mark Shinohara, executive vice president and chief operating officer at TOMY Corporation. “There are more characters, more attacks, and an improved battle system, so it should appeal to anyone who likes RPGs, not just NARUTO fans.”
With an expanded character roster of 30 ninja, all-new Squad Leader and Ninja Tag systems, and improved combat that uses the Touch Screen to unleash devastating melee and jutsu attacks, Path of the Ninja 2 offers more features than ever for new and seasoned fighters alike. Once they’ve conquered the storyline, the Wi-Fi multiplayer feature will even offer aspiring ninja the chance to take on challengers from around the world. NARUTO: Path of the Ninja 2 is scheduled to ship to retail stores on October 14th, and is rated “E10+” (everyone 10 and older).
This brings a sad face to import gamers everywhere and even to my own. Nintendo has confirmed today that the Nintendo DSi which will be releasing in Japan in November and North America/Canada later next year will be region locked.
Nintendo told our sister site Eurogamer.net this afternoon that the DSi is region locked "because DSi embeds net communication functionality within itself and we are intending to provide net services specifically tailored for each region".
The company added: "Also because we are including parental control functionality for Nintendo DSi and each region has its unique age limit made by different independent bodies."
Nintendo wants only country-specific software to work on the regiona locked DSi's. As we look at this....what have we left with the DSi now?
Nintendo in Japan kicked off their press conference today announcing a new addition to their handhelds and that is with the Nintendo DSi. Just like with the countless Gameboy iterations, Nintendo is continuing that tradition. In Japan the release of the DSi won't come around until November 1st. Some features would include:
* Two 0.3 megapixel (640×480 resolution) cameras, one on the outside, another on the inside
* Larger screens — they’re now 3.25 inches (vs. 3.0 inches)
* SD card slot for memory expansion and plug-n-play with Wii Photo Channel
* Built-in web browser
* Support for the “Nintendo DS Store,” which will sell “Nintendo DS Ware,” much like the WiiWare service already available on Wii
* Ability to play MP3s via SD cards
Nintendo of America will be starting off their press conference in California starting tomorrow. Should hear more details then about worldwide releases among other details.

Just when you thought it was safe to walk around in Ninjatown barefoot, Ninja Dropping appears out of nowhere and makes you very unhappy. Thing is, it's not really his fault – he's just dropped here and there by Wee Ninjas on the go, so what else is he to do except do his duty as a doody?
Motto
Welcome a new character addition to NInjatown for the Nintendo DS...
"Goo, gah, dribble..."
Wrapped in swaddling ninja robes, this wee Wee Ninja isn't quite old enough to learn the ropes. So for now, this ninja nugget lays around, observing the daily goings on of Ninjatown, burping, gurgling and whatever other things ninja babies like to do when they're not sleeping.
