Resident Evil Degeneration Coming to N-Gage

Nokia and Capcom today announced that Resident Evil Degeneration will be released on N-Gage later this year. According to Capcom, Degeneration will have gameplay optimized for the N-Gage platform, two seperate play modes, multiple mission types and 3d graphics.
 
The game, part-based on the upcoming October theatrical release in Japan full-length CG motion picture of the same name, focuses on the release of a deadly virus by a terrorist at a US airport and follows series favourites Leon Kennedy and Claire Redfield, as they attempt to destroy the virus and prevent it from being dispersed across the country. Resident Evil Degeneration is the first full-length CG motion picture from the Resident Evil series.

"We're thrilled to bring another major franchise to our N-Gage platform," said Gregg Sauter, Director of Third Party Publishing, Nokia. "For many years, Capcom has been entertaining people around the world with exceptional gaming experiences and we're delighted that they have decided to release one of their most popular franchises for N-Gage. Resident Evil Degeneration will serve as an exciting new chapter for fans of the series and deliver a unique gaming experience that they will not be able to achieve anywhere else. "

No release date or additional has been given about this title, but stayed tuned as it comes in.

Far Cry 2 Cries in October

Gamespot is reporting that Ubisoft has officially listed its release date for Far Cry 2, and will be releasing on October 21st in North America and October 24th in Europe. Their is a special collectors edition also scheduled for release as well in both territories. While in Europe it is confirmed the title will be shipping on the PC, Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 it is also mentioned that the game will launch on all 3 platforms in North America.

Far Cry 2 is a sequel to the 2004 acccalimed action/shooter, Far Cry and ditches the sci-fi aspect held by the original and heads for a more realistic plotline. Players will be dealing with arms dealers camping in the wild African deserts and forests.

Far Cry 2 will retail for $49.99 on the PC and $59.99 on the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3.

Frogger Hits the Apple Store

Konami has announced that Frogger is now available for the iPhone and iPod Touch in Apple's App Store. Frogger has been redesigned and takes advantage of the multi-touch screen and accelerometer. Joe Morris had this to say, "We see the iPhone platform as an opportunity to showcase the legendary Konami brands in a truly unique fashion...Konami is committed to providing players with games that leverage the latest technology. Fans of the best-selling Frogger franchise can now experience the title like never before, and we look forward to releasing more of our popular titles for the iPhone soon."

Call of Duty Going Mobile

As if suffering on the next-gen consoles wasn't enough, Activision decided it was necessary to extend their deal with Glu and give us Call of Duty: World at War on major mobile phones everywhere. Glu will self-develop and publish the title.

“We’re excited to extend our partnership with Activision and bring Call of Duty: World at War to mobile gamers worldwide,” said Jill Braff, senior vice president of global publishing, Glu. “The Call of Duty franchise has been a great addition to Glu’s portfolio of award-winning games, and we look forward to the continued success it will bring to the action category.”

Who knows, maybe the mobile version will be more fun then the console version.

Love Guru Getting Mobile Treatment

As with any movie coming out these days, it all gets the wonderful game adaption to follow along with it. What's different about this one though, is Mike Meyers' newest comedy, The Love Guru will be getting an adaption straight to the mobile phone service. The game was originally released as a Verizon Wireless exclusive but will be making its debut on other mobile networks in the next two weeks.

“The Love Guru mobile game is a great complement to the upcoming theatrical debut of the film,” states Sandi Isaacs, SVP Mobile & Interactive, Paramount Digital Entertainment. “We are excited to reunite with Player X to develop a game that will entertain audiences of all ages.”

The game, developed by Tag Games, comprises of six mini-games where players try to achieve enlightenment by passing various mental challenges.

Nokia to Feed Konami Titles for N-Gage

Nokia just announced today that it will be distributing titles for Konami's mobile service. One of the first titles to hit will be Metal Gear Solid Mobile. Konami hopes that gamer's will be able to appreciate the work being put into Metal Gear Solid Mobile as it will still have the same atmosphere as the titles on the console platforms.  This title hopes it will be able to emmerse players just as the other Metal Gear games have and made them successful. Sony has just sent over some screenshots for their mobile game James Bond Top Agent. Top Agent will cover a variety of James Bond films and is being offered in downloadable packs that will be released over the next several months. Skyzone Announces Game Lineup

In a press release sent out today, Skyzone has announced their lineup for the 2nd quarter of 2008. Skyzone will be launching six mobile games, including Fish On!, in the Q2 2008. Key Sar, Vice President of Content Programming and Strategy, had this to say abou the lineup:

Nokia Announces Launch of N-Gage

In a press release sent today, Nokia has announced that their N-Gage platform has officially launched. The launch officially takes the platform out of beta and introduces several new features. Mobile gamers can now expect to see extended compatibility to various headseats and an expanded online offering.

 

The N-Gage platform introduces several features that allow players greater connectivity with cellphone games. Players can now chat, have a friend's list and even participate in tournaments. Players can also take part in hosted events.

 

In addition to having multiplayer and community tools, N-Gage offers gamers various titles for download. Gamers can expect to see everything from Asphalt 3: Street Rules by Gameloft to EA's The Sims 2 Pets. Most of these titles are already available for download on the N-Gage site.

i-Citizen 3D Released for Mobile Phones

Micazook has announced that they have released, what they claim to be, the world's first 3d avatar world for 2.5G and 3G mobile handset networks.
