E3 2005: New Line-Up Breathes Life into GameCube
Posted December 31, 1969 by Ron Williamson
Nintendo, in association with
third-party developers, has announced an exciting new line-up of games
that is sure the attract the attention of the gaming community.
With so much talk about the next-gen systems it could become easy to
forget about the systems that are sitting on your entertainment center
right now. Nintendo is bringing the GameCube back into the spotlight
with the announcement of over 60 new titles for the Game Cube this year
alone. Probably the most anticipated game to come out for the GameCube
is the new title The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. This game is what many fans felt robbed of when The Legend of Zelda: Windwaker was released. Twilight Princess is a much more mature and adult title, and more closely resembles The Legend of Zelda: The Ocarina of Time, than any other Zelda
titles to date. Many have seen the screen shots and videos of this
highly anticipated title and are astonished at it?s advanced graphics
and, what looks to be, great game play. Nintendo announced that Twilight Princess
will ??set a new standard for video games with vast lands, stunning
visuals, and amazing new game play that allows players to control the
main character, Link, whether he travels on foot, on horseback, or on
all fours - as a wolf.? Link actually does morph into a wolf in this
title. How this is going to be implemented exactly isn?t entirely laid
out, but it does give fans more to look forward to.
Another classic Nintendo character is making a come back. Mario is
being featured in a number of new, sport related titles. One
interesting title is Dance Dance Revolution: Mario Mix which features 25 songs and comes with a Dance Dance Revolution pad. Mario will also be breaking a sweat in such titles as Mario Baseball, Super Mario Strikers, and Mario Party 7,
which is going to support voice recognition. Some of the 80 mini-games
will actually require the use of the included Nintendo GameCube Mic.
Nintendo seems to have a lot of plans for its latest console, and its
life seems far from over. Keep checking back here for more updates and
previews.
