May in Review and E3 Wrap-Up
Posted December 31, 1969 by Scott Parrino
May is finally over and sadly E3 as
well. As we go into June, we prepare for the summer and the hot new
titles.
The month of May for GamePlasma was probably one of its biggest months
of this year. This is due to the trip to Los Angeles we took for E3
(Electronic Entertainment Expo) from the 17th to the 21st. This trip
was the first time that such a large number of GamePlasma staff was
together in person for one event. It was a pleasure for myself to meet
the guys I have been working with for a long time and to see the faces
behind the names really brought us together. I?m pretty sure we all had
a great time together, especially when the conversation involved
stormtroopers!
Once we arrived at E3, we were eager to get in line and try out the new games, hardware, and of course see the booth babes. For hours upon hours on end, the GamePlasma staff worked diligently to put up previews, screenshots, articles, and plan out the next day?s operations. I want to say this right now that I congratulate all staff at E3 for their dedication to their work, even if it involved falling asleep on a keyboard. The amount of work shows in our previews, articles, and soon to arrive videos section. The total amount of articles is going to be over 100, so I?m sure you readers will have a lot of time to burn checking out the hot E3 articles! As I am sure a lot of you have noticed was the E3 page link either when you entered GamePlasma.com or on the banner. Within our E3 page is all our articles, previews, screenshots, and pictures of anything and everything that was at our E3 trip. I?m sure a lot of Nintendo fans enjoyed reading the Nintendo press conference and checking out the previews of Mario Kart DS and the much anticipated The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess for the GameCube. Other big name consoles made their appearance, such as the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360. The Xbox 360 has shown a lot of promise with their user interface that is getting closer and closer to being a part of one?s daily life. Our video previews of the Xbox 360 will make a believer out of anyone who thinks otherwise. Trust me, after getting trying out Need For Speed: Most Wanted and watching the VIP video of the Xbox 360, it is going to make a huge mark on the gaming market. Some of you probably believe that the handheld market is currently just going to be the Playstation Portable (PSP) and the Nintendo DS. Well at E3 GamePlasma was given a nice preview of an up and coming handheld that is set to make its mark on the gaming market. The Gizmondo is armed with all the peripherals of a handheld plus GPS, media interface, and of course an array of games (nearly 90 due). You can check out the Gizmondo article for more information. I am sure a lot of you are wondering about GP 2.0. All I can say right now is that you will not be disappointed when it arrives. When does it arrive? Lets just say it is sooner than you think and it will most likely blow you out of your seat! Not only will GamePlasma begin featuring hardware reviews as their own section, but also staff will have their own mini profiles, complete with photos, interests, and possibly even a blog! For the future of GamePlasma, I can only say that it is getting brighter and bigger. This year is going to be a great one for us so stick around and hang on for the ride!
