According to gamersreports.com (via the official Capcom forums), it is believed that Microsoft is trying to lock up Resident Evil 5 as an Xbox 360 exclusive title.

Seems like Microsoft is willing to pay any amount of money to obtain the upcoming game, similar to how they paid Take-Two $50 million to get exclusive GTA4 downloadable episodes.

Rumor has it that the announcement is supposed to be made at E3, but there hasn’t been any word from Capcom, yet.

If Microsoft secures RE5 as an Xbox 360 exclusive, they will surely gain another upper hand over Sony’s PS3. But if Microsoft dished out $50 million just for exclusive downloadable content, how much are they willing to pay for an exclusive game?
