The Month of October in Review
Posted December 31, 1969 by Brian Becker
October went by awfully slow, at least to me.
Perhaps it?s the looming anticipation of November and it?s megaton of sure to be hit releases, or perhaps not, but one thing is for sure. November is going to be the biggest month the gaming industry has ever seen. Now, October was good, but nothing compared to November. Halo 2, one of the most anticipated games of the year hits stores on the ninth. The self proclaimed ?Halo Killer,? Killzone has already been released. I somehow doubt it will live up to that title. Half-Life 2 finally got a release date, and its coming out this month as well. Medal of Honor: Pacific Assault, Everquest II, Mario Power Tennis, Call of Duty: Finest Hour, Ratchet & Clank: Up Your Arsenal, Painkiller: Battle Out of Hell, Metroid Prime 2: Echoes, Prince of Persia: The Warrior Within, Viewtiful Joe 2, and Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater are just a few of the extremely hot titles being released in the coming weeks of November. Wow, looking at that list makes me drool.

As for the home-front (I feel like I?m writing a state of the union address every month), we had ten reviews, most of them recent releases such as Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, which, if you own a GameCube, you aught to go out and buy right now, Wanted: A Wild West Adventure, X-Men Legends for the PS2, Star Wars: Battlefront, Codename: Panzers, Evil Genius, Gungrave: Overdose, Vietcong: Purple Haze, Trainz Railroad Simulator 2004: Passenger Edition, and Starscape. A pretty good month for games if I must say so myself. A lot of high scores.

Well, thats it for October. Remember to save some money for food this month. All those incredible games sure can be tempting, but everyone has got to eat, but then again, I guess that?s what Thanksgiving is for.
