Mario Kart Wii Gets a Release Date
Posted March 12, 2008 by Ryan Lodata

Nintendo's newest Mario Kart game, set for release on the Wii, has been given a release date along with additional details.

Mario Kart will be available on April 27th and has multiplayer capabilities up to 11 players.  In addition to multiplayer gameplay, gamers can expect to see a total of 32 total courses. Half of those courses will be from previous Mark Kart games on various consoles. The actual courses to be included from previous games has not yet been announced.

Mario Kart Wii wil also allow players to choose between a kart or a motorbike as they race around the track. These vehicles can be driven by various characters or a user created Mii of their choice. Once again, these characters will be able to collect powerups to hinder the racing of their fellow racers.

Gamers are also given the choice of what control scheme they would like to use. Players can use the Wii Wheel, which will be sold seperately, or they can choose from a variety of combinations with the Wiimote and Nunchuk. Also, you will be given the option to choose between the classic controller or even the gamecube controller.

No information was included in the press release for the Wii Wheel or for the game itself, but you can find more information on Mari Kart Wii and other Wii games at: www.wii.com
