Seems like the newest sequel for Beyond Good&Evil is being placed on hold by Ubisoft. With no official announcement to be seen anywhere, you can more then likely place this in the rumor category. This statement was spotted on Gamersyde's Twitter stating in quote.

"I got confirmation at Cologne's Gamescom that Beyond Good & Evil 2 is on hold for now. No idea if it's def or temporary but it sucks."

So, take that with a grain of salt for now. We haven't seen anything in the story of a press release from Ubisoft yet. There could still be something brewing for the game and we don't know about it yet. However, with Ubisoft being tight lipped about the game, it's hard not to jump to that conclusion.
