Tripwire Interactive Announces Sponsorship for Souther Game Expo

Tripwire Interactive and the Georgia Game Developers Association (GGDA) today announced that Tripwire became a "platinum" sponsor for the third annual Southern Interactive Entertainment and Game Expo (SIEGE). The expo is currently schedule for October 2-4, 2009 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel - Atlanta Perimeter NW (Powers Ferry Rd.) SIEGE09 will focus on the connections that fuel the growing video game industry in the Southeast.

Released in early 2006, Tripwire Interactive’s debut retail title Red Orchestra: Ostfront 41-45 has achieved both critical and commercial success garnering several awards including “Multiplayer Game of the Year” and “FPS of the Year” for 2006. With Red Orchestra ranking as one of the most played PC Multiplayer games in the world and 400,000 units sold on PC, Tripwire Interactive proved that with hard work, determination and great distribution partners, independent game developers can still make a big splash in the games industry. Tripwire’s second title Killing Floor jumped straight to the top of the Steam best-seller list and instantly became one of the top-ten most played FPS games in the world. “We are excited to have Tripwire even more active with SIEGE,” said Andrew Greenberg, SIEGE director. “They always bring a high level of knowledge and excitement to any session with which they are involved, and we look forward to them being more integral to the expo.”
As the Southeast's leading gaming and interactive conference, SIEGE brings together students and professionals from across the region to celebrate the world of gaming. SIEGE's speakers include leading figures from a wide spectrum of the industry, including artists, programmers, designers, writers, teachers and business executives. Along with a job fair and three days of keynote addresses, panels, workshops, and tournaments, SIEGE 2009 explores the connective power of games through art, technology and business. Special events include a game design tournaments, game playing tournaments, parties, a job fair, and a student fair for high school students and others looking for colleges.
