Nintendo Reveals Black Wii
Posted June 4, 2009 by Jereme Puik

While not at E3, Gamespot received word that Nintendo will be revealing a black Wii in Japan as well as a red DSi. Previously the console had only been made avaialble in white and other colors were only a dream with mockup photos thrown out there for the press to eat up. At least this is a step in the right direction. One can only hope if we'll see Red or even Green Wii's on the market in the future.

また、据置型ゲーム機「Wii」に関しても、新たに「クロ」を追加し、2009年8月1日(土)より発売することになりましたのでお知らせします。 The fixed-type game machine "Wii" about a new "black" add to 2009 Saturday, August 1 to announce that it has released. なお、メーカー希望小売価格は25,000円(消費税込)で、従来と同額です。 The price is 25,000 yen (including tax) is equal to the past.

The price point translates too (£158, $258). I can only guess that people will probably import their new Wii's over to the US unless Nintendo announces that the color will be heading over Stateside sometime soon. The black Wii will also come with a new Virtual Console controller and nun-chuck along with the black Wii remote as well. The black Wii is set to release on August 1st while the Red DSi will be releasing on July 11 in Japan only. no plans seem to have been revealed for Europe yet.
