Guitar Hero 5 Details Unveiled

Offering tunes from over 85 bands, Activision is already hard at work on the newest Guitar Hero, the game will combine some of the biggest rock bands of today as well as a roster of classic rock athemes to get the nostalgia feeling going. With Guitar Hero World Tour debuting with the latest in prehipreals, Guitar Hero 5 will allow the chance for customization of your band. You will be allowed to rock out with two drums, 3 guitars and a microphone, or even just two guitars. No longer will you be stuck with using the full effect of a band consisting of your guitars, microphone and drums, any combination is possible.

“Guitar Hero is the music platform for today because it celebrates the social nature of music and brings fans closer to the music and artists they love while allowing them to share and discover music with their friends, family and online communities,” said Dan Rosensweig, president and chief executive officer of Guitar Hero.

Guitar Hero 5 features the strongest, most varied set list to-date comprised of master tracks from 85 of the hottest bands of today and the biggest classic acts including; Kings of Leon, The Rolling Stones, The White Stripes, Santana, Vampire Weekend, Tom Petty, Johnny Cash, Bob Dylan, plus more than 25 artists from a variety of music genres that will be making their music video game debut.

New gameplay modes will stretch the replayability of Guitar Hero 5 even further with Party Play. Here you'll be able to jump in and out of gameplay seamlessly without affecting the current session. Rock Fest, which is a competitive experience mode that will feature 5 new head-to-head modes either online or off allowing you to play an entire set list the moment you start up the game.

Aside from new features, Guitar Hero 5 will also feature enhancements to current gameplay features. Redesigns to the art style and overall feel of the game will be present with GHMusic StudioSM making the most of the music genre and making it as authentic as possible. Other features like "Band Moments" will reward players for hitting perfect note streams as well as song challenges where you will be challenged to play a song in a specific way.

Guitar Hero 5 will be releasing for the Xbox 360, Playstation 3, Nintendo Wii, Budcat Studios will be developing the Playstation 2 version of the game.
