EA and Maxis have announced the release date for Spore.

According to a press release from EA, gamers can expect to see Spore the weekend of September 7, 2008. The game will launch on Windows, Macintosh, Nintendo DS and mobile phone systems.

Spore is a new title from maxis that allow players to create a creature and watch as it evolves. EA states that players will be able to customize just about every phase of the creatures, civilizations, vehicles and buildings. Gamers will then be able to share their creations with gamers.
