Paradox Interactive has released a new gameplay trailer for it's upcoming PC strategy game, Vae-Victis, weird name, I know.
Key Features:
• Governments that matter - Different, intuitive game play for Republics, Monarchies and Tribes. Republics are controlled by the five factions of the senate, Monarchies must keep fractious councilors in check, and Tribes must keep an eye on the clan chiefs.
• Laws and Decisions - Players can pass and revoke laws with great effects on the country, or make important one-time decisions.

Missions - Players will be given tasks by the senate or council. Failure to complete these in time can have dire consequences.
• Character ambitions – Characters now have desires and ambitions. Fulfilling these will make your characters loyal, but monarchs had best not ignore the ambitions of their councilors lest they consider a change of dynasty...
• Character focus - Characters gain prominence by holding titles and offices. Prominent characters tend to marry and have children, allowing players to follow the fates of their favorite families through the generations. Governors no longer rule single provinces, but whole regions, reducing micromanagement and making your governors much more important. Players can also interact more directly with the characters; throwing them in prison and having them executed or banished.
• Improved interface - Central features and information are now more readily available, with a much improved province view and a character overview window, additional and improved alerts, informative tool tips, etc.
• Internal strife - Conquest is all fun and games, but if your senate or prominent characters are dissatisfied, your hard-won empire might fall apart.
Set during the golden age of the Roman Republic when the Senate ruled the Empire, Vae Victis is an essential title for fans of historical strategy games everywhere.
