Rock Band is scheduled for release for the Playstation 2 entertainment system today.

Harmonix, MTV Games, and distributer Electronic Arts has scheduled release of Rock Band, the latest console music-based game, to be released for the Playstation 2 today. The game features guitar, bass, drums, and vocals as you join a band and play a variety of rock songs. The game has a suggested price of $159.99 and is already released for the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. The good news is that Playstation 2 and 3 use the same instruments, so you do not have to buy new instruments if you upgrade systems. The game is also scheduled for release in Canada for the Xbox 360 and the Playstation 3 on December 20th. It is also scheduled for release in Europe for all three systems in the first guarter of 2008.
