E3 2006: Turn Your PC into a Console System!

We previewed DISCover's upcoming technology for Windows Media Center enabled PC's.
It’s that time of year again and E3 has gone into full swing. Our first stop for this year was a private meeting with DISCover Game Console. They showcased their "My Games" technology, which allows gamers to rent or download games through Gametap’s extensive game catalog. Here you will be able to see trailers and brief synopses. In addition to this feature, users that have recently purchased Windows Media Center edition computers from Sony, HP and Alienware are able to utilize the "Drop ‘n’ Play" that allows gamers to simply put a game in a CD/DVD drive and avoid the hassles of installing it. After a game is installed or downloaded, the game is placed in a subsection of the "My Games" category. Here you can view all installed games on your PC and their respective box art. Parental controls can also be activated to prevent titles with an unwanted ESRB rating from being installed or played without first entering a user created pin. Allow parents greater control over content installed by their children.
