April in Review and E3 Countdown
Posted December 31, 1969 by Scott Parrino
Another month done and finished! April has come to a delightful end as we go into May and eagerly await E3.

As exciting as March was, it pales in comparison to April. For many students April is the time of the year when school is drawing to an end with finals coming up and nicer weather as well. For our staff here at GamePlasma, the end of April brings us ever so closer to the E3 trip that we have all been looking forward to for numerous months. I?m sure a lot of you have noticed the new countdown at the top of the banner.
Including myself, the GamePlasma team will be sending Tim Bradshaw, creator of GamePlasma, Brian Becker, Nintendo DS Editor, Adam Gainer, PSP Editor, Matt Wetsel, PC Editor, Ron Williamson, GBA Editor, Mike Lanier, Gamecube Editor, and Istvan Pusztai, our beloved Graphics Designer. This will be the first time since a large gathering of the GamePlasma staff has been conducted and I?m sure we?re all excited about it. Look forward to constant coverage as well as video interviews with selected developers as well as press conferences!

Speaking of GamePlasma staff, I am sure you have noticed some new names. Allow me to introduce them. Adam Gainer is our new Sony PSP Editor, who has been doing a great job on the new handheld. Peter Skerritt Jr. has been promoted to Xbox Editor this month and has already shown great promise. Congrats Pete! Mike Lanier has become GameCube Editor along with Ron Williamson as GBA Editor. Combined with Brian Becker as Nintendo DS Editor, we?ve got a great Nintendo Editor staff.

This month we got the chance to interview Andy Mazurek, WWE Aftershock?s Producer as well as Dark Age of Camelot. Along with some great screenshots and a video, Mythic explains its support for this MMORPG and their future plans for it.

Our goal here at GamePlasma has always been to provide at least twenty reviews or more a month. Along with previews, features, interviews, and news, it is a hefty goal to reach. However, this month we reached twenty-four reviews, making April so far the month this year with the most reviews! I don?t think this would not have been done if it weren?t for a great staff we have here. For those who are too lazy to check to see what came in this month for reviews, here they are:

For those who are wondering about the previews we have this month, check out these two titles that will be released sometime this year: Battle Mages: Sign of Darkness (PC) and Guild Wars (PC). We will continue to receive more games to check out before they?re released and keep you informed of their progress!

The editors and contributors that help provide quality reviews and previews deserve to be mentioned. I am honored to have them aboard as part of the staff, especially as we continue to grow and gain experience. Once our staff pages launch along with GP2.0, you?ll be able to see what our editors and contributors are like as people, not just names.

I?m sure a lot of you are wondering about GP2.0. I assure you, that is the current buzz around the office, especially from last week?s meeting. All I can say is that when it launches (soon!) that it will blow away our website we have now in terms of functionality and design. I am sure you guys can?t wait and neither can I. It has been in development to ensure that once it launches it won?t cause any problems for us or for you.

Be sure to check out the forums from time to time for any other news such as jobs or offers as well as giveaways! See you guys at E3!
