ESRB Rating Spotted: Star Wars Dark Forces (PS1)

Is LucasArts planning something behind our backs? A new ESRB rating was spotted today concerning the 1996 release of Star Wars: Dark Forces. Is LucasArts planning on bringing this classic back from the grave? Will we see a remake or a PS1 classic added to PSN? Time can only tell at this point as we await word from LucasArts.

Super Street Fighter IV Coming To Arcades

Capcom revealed today Super Street Fighter IV will indeed be coming to arcades. So, those of you with plenty of extra quarters in your pockets should be checking out your local arcades.

The announcement was confirmed by producer Yoshinori Ono at a recent Street Fighter IV tournament.

Nintendo Download; Week of April 4th

Your new Nintendo Download appeared this week and just like the new releases, the list is a bit slow on new titles. You still get the classic Iron Clad as your Virtual Console title this week. Don't worry though, with a few of the WiiWare games that were playable at PAX  East last month, there will certainly be something new to play very soon once summer rolls around.

WiiWare

  • Fishie Fishie (DK Games, 1-4 players, 500 Wii Points)
  • Learning with the PooYoos: Episode 2 (Lexis, 1 player, 500 WP)

DSiWare

  • Game & Watch: Helmet (Nintendo, 1 player, 200 DSi Points)
  • Game & Watch: Vermin (Nintendo, 1 player, 200 DSi Points)
  • Game & Watch: Manhole (Nintendo, 1 player, 200 DSi Points)

What? Another Civilization Update? Yes There is One

2k Games also announced recently that Civilization Revolution App for iPad in which the iPad releases on April 3rd for $499 USD.

"Sid Meier’s Civilization Revolution is already a huge success for 2K Games," said Christoph Hartmann, president of 2K. "Now, the iPad’s large Multi-Touch screen and impressive capabilities allow for high resolution graphics; a larger viewing and playing area; and expanded gameplay functionality that extend the addictive ‘just one more turn’ gameplay that has been synonymous with the Civilization series for decades.” 

"We’re excited to deliver our signature strategy game at the launch of the revolutionary iPad," said Sid Meier, director of creative development at Firaxis Games. “The popularity of Civilization Revolution on the iPhone and the Nintendo DS™ is a clear indicator that people want to play Civ wherever and whenever they want. Civilization Revolution is already available on store shelves for consoles and PC.

Extreme Diplomacy Mode Coming to Sid Meier's Civ 5

Coming exclusively for PC this time around, 2k Games revealed some new info regarding a new Extreme Diplomacy mode for the title.

An Uber Edition of Sid Meier's Civilization V will include an optional eight-button joystick to bring the classic fighting arcade game feel to these Extreme Diplomacy battles. Additionally, each world leader will have unique special attacks and finishing moves, including: 

  • George Washington's Uncle Slam Attack
  • Oda Nobunaga's Tsunami Train Attack
  • Otto von Bismarck's Hurricane Helmet Spike Attack
  • Ramesses II's Phalanx of the Leopard Army
  • Montezuma's Revenge of the Aztec Army
  • Napoleon's Complex Military Strike

The screenshot above should give you a pretty good idea of what its going to be like so you shouldn't be too confused.

Sony Announces New Greatest Hits Titles

Some new titles have been added to the growing list of "Greatest Hits". These titles are price drops of games that have outgrown their need for full price on the store shelves. These titles are for the very affordable price of $29.99 and include:

That God of War Collection looks mighty tasty at this point especially considering when your trying to jump right into God of War 3. Originally Walmart had accidentally revealed the news via a scan of their latest newspaper sales ad found here on Kotaku. It's a total of ten new titles to hit the price drop.

Xbox Live Arcade FireSale Starts Today

The Conduit 2 Announced

High Voltage Software's cirtically successful Conduit title on Nintendo Wii has officially been greenlight a sequel today and was revealed for the first time. The game is currently in development and introduces 4 player co-op.

The Condtui 2 will support up to 12 players in online multiplayer as well as Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection and Wii Speak and also multiplayer security.

Conduit 2 is an enormous sequel.  Not only does it greatly improve and expand on the original, the online and co-op play modes aim to raise the bar for Wii war games,” said Sean Ratcliffe, Vice President of Marketing, SEGA of America.

"The Conduit was the first of many original IP’s being developed by our studio." said Kerry J. Ganofsky, CEO and founder of High Voltage Software. "That’s why it gives me great pleasure to announce a sequel with a thrilling and exciting online experience.”

“The support for the original has been amazing.” said Eric Nofsinger, HVS Chief Creative Officer. “The fans have always been a major factor in our development process and their continued enthusiasm has helped make Conduit 2 even better.”

The sequel is expected to hit store shelves in Fall 2010 and is anticipating a T for Teen rating by the ESRB.

PAX East Coverage Incoming

Your PAX East coverage will be incoming this week. What's  left over from a great event with hands-on impressions and panel thoughts. 

Keep an eye out on the left side of the website in the Columns section as hands-on impressions and PAX column experiences will be posted there. As this was my first PAX you can expect some analysis and thoughts on the event.

So, expect some content to start appearing this week. Even a few interviews you may notice throughout the days.
