Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena Demo Live

Those looking for some adventure in the Riddick universe can look certainly look forward to Assault on Dark Athena. Atari has just released a demo over Xbox Live today on the Marketplace for your enjoyment.

Featuring the Athena Main Decks level, the demo showcases the evocative art style and breadth of gameplay contained in The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena, including brutal melee combat, nerve-rattling stealth, and high-powered gunplay. Among other gameplay elements, the demo also lets players try one of the game’s unique features, controlling a Drone, while classic Riddick cut-scenes bring the harsh Riddick universe into sharp focus.

The Chronicles of Riddick Assault on Dark Athena will ship for the Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and PC April 7th in North America and April 24th in Europe. The PSN demo will be available later in the month.

Sam & Max Headed to XBLA

Seasons 1 and 2 of Sam & Max will be heading to Xbox Live Arcade this year as according to an announcement from Telltale Games today. Releases on the PC and Wii will be forthcoming as well.

"With Sam & Max coming to Xbox LIVE Arcade and the approaching retail launch, we're reaching a larger audience than we ever have before," says Telltale CEO Dan Connors. "These new releases give us an opportunity to better communicate the imaginative stories that make the Sam & Max games so special, and to strengthen the unique identity of each season."

Both Sam & Max seasons will be released on Xbox LIVE Arcade as full-season bundles, providing instant gratification to players who have been eagerly waiting for the Freelance Police to appear on Microsoft's console. The second Sam & Max season - which recently received Best Adventure Game accolades from IGN and PC Gamer and took home five Aggie Awards, including Best Comedy Writing, Best Gameplay, and Game of the Year from Adventure Gamers - is also scheduled to hit retail for PC and Wii in the coming months.

New Tomb Raider: Underworld Level Released

Microsoft has announced that a new Tomb Raider: Underworld level is available for download in the Xbox Live Marketplace. The new level is titled "Beneath the Ashes" and has Lara croft returning "to the remains of Croft Manor in order to find a powerful artifact hidden in a mysterious centuries-old labyrinth deep beneath the estate." The new level also contains six new outfits and a new enemy.

The new level weighs in at 976mb and is available for 800 MS points.

Lost Planet 2 Details

With the announcement trailer over Xbox Live yesterday, Capcom has come around today to release new details about the game. So far, it looks like it's a timed Xbox 360 exclusive. The story, surprisingly is set to take place 10 years after the first. After shifting 2.2 million units alone on the original Lost Planet, it was inevitible a sequel would pop up. It should also be noted that Lost Planet 2 will contain 4 player co-op.

Lost Planet 2 picks up 10 years since the events of the original adventure and the landscape has evolved dramatically. With the success of terraforming activities, the planet’s ice has begun to melt, giving way to lush tropical jungles and other new environments. The story has advanced beyond Wayne Holden as players will now follow the exploits of their own customized snow pirates on their quest to seize control of E.D.N III. Players will move their heroes through different stories creating a truly unique and interactive experience. With this concept, gamers will have the opportunity to engage in the story in a more dynamic way as plot threads evolve from various perspectives.

The strongest features from the first game will return in Lost Planet 2 making fans feel right at home. In addition to the anchor actions that made the gameplay in Lost Planet a true 3-D experience, Lost Planet 2 allows gamers to gain tactical advantage with a wide variety of new actions. The game will also contain a new addition to the enormous Akrids which were a fan-favourite in the first Lost Planet.

Players will be looking deeper into the planet of E.D.N III as mankind continues to discover its unknowns.

Red Xbox 360 Console Launching in March

You heard the rumors and now its true. Both Europe and North America will be getting their respective Red tinted Xbox 360 consoles. As according to Major Nelson, the console will retail for $399 in North America in its shiny redness as if you're looking at the face of Mars.

Lost Planet 2 Video Now on Xbox Live

Microsoft has announced today that the exclusive unveiling of Capcom's Lost Planet 2 has hit Xbox Live. The video clocks in at seven minutes long and is available in English and Japanese. Also included is a video intro by “Lost Planet 2” producer, Jun Takeuchi and a Q&A with the game’s director Kenji Oguro.
