March 8, 2010 by Jereme Puik Nintendo Wii

Yes, Final Fantasy 13 may be releasing on the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 tomorrow, but Nintendo has part of that Final Fantasy craze all covered here. Final Fantasy II, which is actually Final Fantasy IV in Japan, makes its debut on the Virtual Console this morning. We also see the release of Max & the Magic Marker, which after doing a little search was a web-based flash game that was brought and expanded for Wii Ware gamers. Here are some of the other releases for this week.

DSi Ware

Elemental Masters (800 DSi Points, 1-2 Players)
4 TRAVELLERS™ - Play Spanish (800 DSi Points, 1-4 Players)

Flips: The Bubonic Builders (500 DSi Points, 1 Player)

Activision revealed the announcement of 10 Minute Solutions for the Nintendo Wii this morning. Based off of the DVD set which brings users a unique fitness experience.

“10 Minute Solution DVDs give users a unique fitness experience: customizable routines that fit into any lifestyle,” said David Oxford, Activision Publishing. “We’ve taken this concept and combined it with the interactivity of the Wii, creating a new kind of workout that gets results.”

10 Minute Solution combines the ease of the popular fitness DVDs with casual gaming fun. The game allows players to construct regimens from a wide variety of 10 minute routine blocks, organized into three main categories: cardio boxing, mixed games and aerobics. 10 Minute Solution is designed to captivate fitness enthusiasts and gamers alike with intense routines that play as a game, unlike other fitness games that simply have the player following a trainer on screen. The game is enhanced when played with the Wii Balance Board™, but still offers a fantastic workout without it.

The game will be available for a retail MSRP of $19.99 and the game has not yet been rated by the ESRB. More screenshots below.

A new Nintendo patent was discovered today showcasing a new catridge slot for the Nintendo DS. Could Nintendo be planning on ressurecting the Gameboy Advance slot they killed off from the first DS? Or could this be used for a new Micro SD Card slot? one can only guesstimate at this point. The application read:

"The broken lines showing of an electronic game machine is for illustrative purposes only.”

What are your guesses? Check out more info on the filing page here....

The newest issue of Nintendo Power Magazine was uncovered by GoNintendo today and revealed that Scribblenauts 2 will be announced and will be coming to store shelves this Fall. Here are some bullet point details.

  • -10,000 more words
  • -120 new and improved levels
  • -adjectives play a big role
  • -improved controls
  • -fleshed out level editor
  • -par system removed
  • -more merits
  • -new hint system
  • -coming this fall

The first game sold over a million units last Fall, which isn't surprising considering how quickly the DS audience took to the game by storm. Will we hear more details when PAX East arrives later this month? Or will we have to wait until E3? Only time will tell and I'm sure we'll be seeing a press releasing from 5th Cell popping up next week. Gotta love the internet, huh?
